Um, I might have overdone it.
I don’t think we’ll be eating any meals out this week.
Here is what I picked up (and hauled home) this week at the farmers’ market:
- Tomatoes (including some beautiful heirloom varieties)
- Chinese eggplant*
- Swiss chard
- Red potatoes
- Patty pan squash*
I went to the market with Carissa and her mom this morning, and after a week of late nights, early mornings, and uninspired cooking, I was super excited to cook all weekend. We took some pictures for Carissa’s blog, which you should check out if you happen to be interested in both food AND fashion.
Kyle and I did a little food styling of my purchases and then had a nice spinach salad for lunch, tossed in berry balsamic dressing and topped with peaches, goat cheese, and walnuts. While staging our vegetable photo shoot, two red potatoes rolled off the table and over the side of the second-story balcony. Kyle diligently chased them and had a brief Easter egg hunt for potatoes (as if we didn’t have enough food).
